Mark J. Bunim is a nationally recognized arbitrator and mediator with more than four decades of experience resolving complex insurance coverage and high-stakes commercial disputes. He has served as sole arbitrator, panel chair, and panel member in over 150 arbitrations, including matters with amounts in dispute reaching $1 billion.

Mark is particularly known for his deep expertise in insurance coverage disputes across all policy types, as well as complex business, partnership, and technology-related conflicts. His background as a former law firm managing partner and insurance litigation leader provides him with a comprehensive understanding of both the legal and business dynamics driving disputes.

Licensed in New York courts since 1976, Mark founded Case Closure, LLC. in 2005, bringing to alternative dispute resolution the same rigor, precision, and command of the law that defined his distinguished career as a practicing attorney. His practice is both domestic and international in scope.

Mark was the founding and first co-chair of the New York State Bar Association Insurance Dispute Committee of the Dispute Resolution Section from 2022 to 2025.

Mark is a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a Diplomate member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, having been inducted in 2012. He was named 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Insurance Law by the American Lawyer and the New York Law Journal.
